How Your Star Sign Affects Your Health And What You Can Do About It


Aquarius Jan 20 – Feb 18 

Generally healthy, you, usually know exactly how to stay that way. But you don’t always practice what you preach!

Weak points: exercise is fine in theory, but you don’t give it a high priority and this can be a problem later in life. Vulnerable to hardening of the arteries and varicose veins. Shins and ankles can be weak, leading to frequent falls and damage to the Achilles tendon or bone fractures.

Action points: gentle exercise like yoga or water aerobics and try a bone supplement to build up weak ankles.

Pisces Feb 19 – March 19 

A very sympathetic and sensitive sign, you absorb others atmosphere and moods. It can drain your energy so guard against being overwhelmed.

Weak points: you recover more slowly from anaesthetic and prone to food poisoning, allergic to fish and seafood. Feet are vulnerable to corns, athletes foot, and verruca’s.

Action points: eliminate or reduce foods that upset you. Peppermint tea not coffee after a meal to aid digestion and Nux Vom for nausea. Vitamin C and Arnica after an operation and see a chiropodist regularly.

Aries March 20 – April 21

Courageous, fast-moving, highly motivated, but you can be hot-headed and impulsive which may be a problem.

Weak points: being accident prone leading to cuts, scalds, burns and bruises. Short tempered and prone to migraines, headaches and tiredness due to surges of adrenaline. Teeth vulnerable to cavities and breaking.

Action points: have regular dental check-ups and try stress management or meditation for
that hot headed streak. Reduce stimulants like caffeine, sugar, alcohol to reduce surges of adrenaline and try green tea, or calming blends containing chamomile and valerian.

Taurus April 20 – May 20 

You love the good things in life, particularly food, and weight gain is often a problem as is good healthcare.

Weak points: thyroid is your weak point so if energy is low, check with your doctor. Sore throats, laryngitis and earaches are common as is weight gain.

Action points: your stubborn side can be very positive if you decide on a healthy regime, but hard to convince if you have decided you don’t need it! Watching your weight is essential so find a lifelong, healthy diet you will stick to. Prey to regular infections so boost your immune system with echinacea and/or acupuncture to raise energy levels.

Gemini May 21 – June 20 

You need lots of mental stimulation, variety and freedom which can deplete you if you ignore health warning signs.

Weak points: feeling restricted or burdened can lead to nervous exhaustion and physical tension. Depression can develop from prolonged stress and you are prone to lung problems including asthma and bronchitis.

Action points: your enthusiasm means you can easily overdo it and you need B complex and vitamin C as well as plenty of omega-rich fish to help with any stress. For mental fatigue and tension try Rescue Remedy. Yoga and Tai Chi are both effective exercise forms for you.

Cancer June 21 – July 21 

Introverted and emotionally vulnerable, prone to great mood changes which are at the root of health problems.

Weak points: stress-related illnesses and vulnerable to indigestion and gastric ulcers. Water retention and swollen, sore, breasts are common and worry/anxiety upsets regular sleep which is essential to maintain good health.

Action points: tackling stress is vital and for digestion focus on alkaline foods
and light, frequent meals and leave 2-3 hours after a meal before going to bed.
If worries keep you awake, try Lavender oil in a warm bath, Lane’s Quiet Life herbal tablets or some slow, deep breathing.

Leo July 22-Aug22 

You blend creativity and authority with courage and like responsibility, but don’t like admitting to any weakness!

Weak points: stress is a problem as you can be too proud to ask for help. Being too self-indulgent with food can lead to heart problems with high blood pressure and high cholesterol. Mental and physical rigidity is common, so beware a lack of flexibility in joints and muscles.

Action points: that tendency to indulge yourself needs balancing with a good self care regime. Moderation is the key and stress will damage your health if you don’t take action. Exercise will help as well as stress vitamins B and C plus E and omega 3 and 6 oils. Yoga or tai chi for flexibility, and to reduce stress.

Virgo Aug 23 – Sept 22 

Your strongly self-critical nature means you are rarely satisfied with yourself so being kinder to yourself is essential to avoid potential health problems building up.

Weak points: your stomach reflects your mood and you can have digestive problems, particularly when upset. Constipation/diarrhoea are common responses to stress.

Action points: stress affects your entire health and being overly critical is a major stress factor. Tackle it through counseling, yoga and meditation and never, ever, eat when upset. Reduce stimulants like caffeine, smoking, alcohol and switch to calming herbal or green tea instead.

Libra Sept 23 – Oct 22 

You are the lucky ones as you find it easy to keep fit and generally have sensible eating habits

Weak points: kidneys can be a problem and poor elimination of wastes and toxins can cause headaches and fluid retention. Stress and illness can be brought on by discord or loneliness and a tense atmosphere or even clutter. Co-ordination and balance problems can be a symptom of other physical or emotional issues.

Action points: you need beauty and harmony for health so try to spend time surrounded by good friends in nurturing surroundings that make you feel good. Try to keep your space as clear as you can to avoid feeling overwhelmed and for any balance or co-ordination problems a chiropractor or osteopath will be able to help.

Scorpio Oct 23 – Nov 21 

Secretive by nature, you tend to keep problems to yourself but not sharing means extra stress.

Weak points: can suffer severe period pain and need to have regular cervical smears, particularly after menopause. Prone to constipation, diarrhoea or piles and at risk for stress-related conditions like cancer and heart attack .

Action points: vigilance is the watchword and you need regular check ups
to ensure you stay healthy. You plenty of fibre and lots of water to help with elimination, and if constipation is a problem eat grated raw carrot and beetroot daily. Stress is a major so tackle that first and try to be more open about your health with others.

Sagittarius Nov 22 – Dec 20 

You pride yourself on their brain power, but this needs balancing with physical activity for health.

Weak points: your impulsiveness means minor accidents can be a problem, and most likely to damage your hips and thighs. Watch any over-indulgence, it can lead to liver problems. Freedom is key for so feeling restricted in any way can physical symptoms to arise.

Action points: avoid those minor accidents and don’t strain your body with too vigorous exercise. Try to be moderate with food and drink and a monthly detox of a day just on fluid or fruit would give your body the rest it probably needs.Pin It

Capricorn Dec 21 – Jan 19 

You tend to live to a ripe old age and are both determined and disciplined – a great health base. Your skeletal structure is a vulnerable area, check for signs of weakness or stress when exercising or playing sport.

Weak points: knees especially, for rheumatism and arthritis as well as osteoporosis. Stress and tension may show in the skin as boils, acne, nervous rashes.

Action points: tai chi for keeping the joints and knees supple and Omega 3 and 6 oils in the diet, plus a good bone supplement can slow the progress of osteoporosis. Stressed skin can be helped by using a homoeopathic remedy like sulphur.
