Here are 5 ways to help you to get over your break-up and start the healing process.

1. Don’t Be So Hard On Yourself

Going through a break up is a painful process, but it’s important not to dwell on the negative for long. Give yourself maximum of 48 hours to be in a ‘duvet state’. This is where you allow yourself to feel the pain, cry as much as you want, watch all the soppy movies/ TV and eat feel good junk foods. In order to be able to move forward we all need to let go of our emotions.

2. Surround Yourself By Your Friends And Family

It’s good to surround yourself with your family and friends who will be there to give you the hugs and love that you need. They are a great support to help you through the pain and to move on.

3. Get A Daily Routine

This will take a lot of willpower at the beginning but get yourself a daily routine, so that you get yourself out of bed early each day. Having a routine will help you to keep your mind focused and ensure that you are not dwindling on the past or negative thoughts for long.

4. Keep Busy

Getting through a day, can be very long and painful as all you will want to do is lock yourself away. Keeping your day busy doing things – and it doesn’t matter what – seeing friends, starting a new project, working late etc. will keep your mind diverted and stop you from thinking those painful thoughts. By the time you are ready for bed – you’ll be quiet exhausted and ready for sleep.

Pin It5. Take One Step At A Time And Keep Moving Forward

Focus on the positives in your life and use your negative energies to achieve all the positive things that you want in your life, like travelling the world, building a business, doing something that you have been putting off. Keep focusing on the present day and not overwhelming yourself with the months ahead.

Getting over a break up is different for each person, so you cannot put a time frame on when you should be ready and open for the next relationship. Just be positive that you will know when you are ready.
