There are a myriad of experts and remedies that can help us deal with tension, but the solution also lies within our own hands. Ailments such as aches and discomfort can be attributed to blockages in the energy pathways of our bodies.

If left unchecked, it can lead to further disruptions of these pathways, but through the use of touch therapy it is possible to release these tensions and bring our energy pathways back into harmony.
What Is Jin Shin Jyutsu?
This ancient healing practice is known as Jin Shin Jyutsu and was rediscovered early in the 20th century. Although there are expert practitioners that can be consulted, it is also a technique that is simple enough to perform by yourself.
This means that it can be done anywhere and at any time that it is needed. All that is required is a basic understanding of the methods that are involved. It can be used to help speed up the healing of any organ in the body or to target specific emotions that need calming.
It is a lot more cost-effective than turning to the medicine cabinet all the time and, best of all, doesn’t come with any unwanted side effects. Studies have even shown that it has a positive effect on cancer patients in regards to reducing their pain and nausea.
According to Jin Shin Jyutsu, the energy pathways that run through our fingers are all tied to specific emotions or organs. This means that all that is required to target these emotions or organs are simply finger holds. Simply hold the finger on one hand using your other hand to experience the benefits.
The Fingers And Where They Connect
The Little Finger: This finger connects to the heart as well as small intestine. It is also associated with the emotions of nervousness, insecurity and being judgmental. The physical symptoms that can be treated using this finger include heart conditions, nerve issues, feeling bloated, and a sore throat as well as blood pressure problems.
The Ring Finger: This finger connects to the lungs as well as the large intestine. Its associated emotions are grief, sadness, negativity and the fear of rejection. The physical symptoms of a blockage can include a ringing in the ears, issues with breathing, deep skin issues and digestive complications.
The Middle Finger: The liver and gallbladder are both connected with the middle finger. The emotions associated with it also include irritability, indecisiveness and anger. Use it to treat physical symptoms such as frontal head agues, fatigue, migraines, menstrual problems, issues with circulation and troubles with your vision or eyes.
The Index Finger: Both the bladder and kidneys are connected with the index finger along with emotions such as mental confusion, frustration, fear, and self-criticism. Through the use of Jin Shin Jyutsu, it can help with backaches, constipation or digestion issues, tennis elbow, and areas of the mouth such as the jaw, gums and teeth.
The Thumb: The organs that are connected with the thumb include the spleen and stomach. The emotions associated with it include depression, anxiety and worry. Focus on the thumb to take care of symptoms such as headaches, nervousness, skin problems or stomach aches.
How To Perform The Touch Therapy By Yourself
Depending on how much time you have and what symptoms or emotions you want to address, Jin Shin Jyutsu can be performed one of two ways. The first is to work through all fingers on both hands, one by one, to completely harmonize your body.
The second, which is useful if you are pressed for time or want to address specific symptoms, is to focus on the appropriate finger. As the energy pathways from your fingers cross over from one side to the other, it doesn’t matter which hand you use to hold the finger on which you want to focus.
After you have determined which finger you want to focus on, wrap the fingers and thumb of your other hand around it.
While holding the finger, breathe deeply. How long you hold the finger really depends on how much time you have. If you have plenty of time available, hold the finger until you get the emotion you want to address under control. You can also hold the appropriate finger until you feel what some practitioners of Jin Shin Jyutsu describe as a pulse sensation.
Since Jin Shin Jyutsu is a gentle and non-invasive form of healing it is suitable for just about anyone. It is also very empowering as it allows you to take a proactive stance on your health and well-being. In addition, it makes you self-aware about your life force and the power you have within yourself.
