It’s pumpkin time! This lovely fall icon is rich in fiber and beta-carotene (ie. the stuff that gives a healthy boost to your vision, heart health and immune system)… So go ahead and indulge in this delicious seasonal twist on chili!

Serves 6


  • 2 Tbsp extra virgin olive oil
  • 1 large onion chopped
  • 1 yellow bell pepper
  • 1 orange bell pepper
  • 1 green bell pepper
  • 1 pound ground turkey
  • 1 15 oz can organic black beans
  • 1 15 oz can organic roasted diced tomatoes with green chilies
  • 1 15 oz can organic pumpkin purée
  • 1 Tbsp chili powder
  • 1 Tbsp cayenne pepper
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • ½ tsp ground black pepper
  • ½ tsp cumin
  • 1 pinch salt


  1. Pin ItHeat oil in a large pot over medium heat.
  2. Sauté the onions and peppers until tender.
  3. Add turkey and cook until just browned.
  4. Add spices, beans, diced tomatoes and pumpkin purée.
  5. Cover and let simmer on low heat for 30 min.
  6. Serve with avocado slices, sour cream, cheddar cheese, and fresh cilantro or your choice of garnish.
