If you are questioning whether you have found yours, it could be a good time to evaluate the relationship and decide if you have or not. A soulmate is often a partner or spouse, but could also be a best friend or other kindred spirit. The benefits to such a relationship are many, and they include having a support network that you can rely on through good and bad, a mood boost, a healthier life and an overall sense of well-being that is hard to come by in less personal relationships. For some people, more than one soulmate may come along. Here is how to know if that person is your soulmate or if you should keep on looking.

1. Anything Can Be Fun

When you’re with your soulmate, even the most boring thing can be enjoyable. When you spend time with this person, you find new ways to have fun and new things to laugh at. That doesn’t mean you don’t enjoy doing things with other people or that every second you spend with your soulmate is rainbows and butterflies. But if you have to do something dreadful and you can only think of one person to do it with, chances are you have found your soulmate.

2. You Aren’t The Same Person

If you think that you and your soulmate have to be identical, you will never find the one meant for you. Just because you are soulmates, it doesn’t mean you will always agree with each other or be on the same page. Once you can accept this, you will be a lot more open to finding the soulmate meant for you.

3. You Know What Each Other Is Thinking

When you have a soulmate, you can sometimes just look at each other and know what you are both thinking. This stems from getting to know each other so well that you are tuned into one another and know how certain situations will make the other one feel. If all it takes is a glance and a knowing look, your soulmate is probably the person looking back at you.

4. You Are There For Each Other

Soulmates are always there for each other. That means you can call that person after a bad day and he or she will be there to listen and understand. They might not try to make things better or figure out what you should do, but there is comfort in knowing that person is there when you need them to be. When you’re in a tight spot and only have one number on speed dial, that person is probably your soulmate.

5. Your Heart Beats Faster

Most people’s soulmate will be the person they fall in love with. When you look at them, no matter how long you’ve known each other or been together, your heart will beat a little faster or skip a beat altogether. That little feeling is enough to tell you that you have found the one.

6. You’re Surprised

Many people are surprised to find out who their soulmate is. Usually that person comes along when you have sworn off love or given up the hope of ever finding that special someone; that person might just come along when you least expect it and shock you. When this happens, it is probably the way it’s supposed to be. Some people are even surprised to find that someone they’ve known their whole lives is actually their soulmate.

7. There Is Trust

If you don’t have trust in a person, you can bet they aren’t your soulmate. On the other hand, if you have no doubt about your faith in that person, it’s a pretty fair bet they are your soulmate. Most people know who that one person they can always count on is, and it often turns out that that person is their soulmate.

8. You Feel Free

In a true soulmate relationship, you allow each other freedom and don’t worry if one of you goes away, because you know you’ll always come back to each other since you’re meant to be together. Soulmates don’t always like the same thing and they are fine with enjoying their own pursuits without questioning the partnership or wondering if it’s meant to be or not. If you both feel free to pursue your hobbies and dreams, you can count on each other as soulmates.

9. You Are Home

True soulmates will feel like they are home no matter where they are, as long as they are together. If you would go to the ends of the earth with someone and still be totally comfortable, that person is probably your soulmate.

10. You Give Each Other New Perspective

As mentioned above, you and your soulmate are not the same person. There will be differences, and that is perfectly fine. The things you see and feel differently about make your relationship better and stronger.

11. You Make Each Other Better

When you’re with your soulmate, they should make you want to be better and actually be able to make you better. You are there to hold each other up and back each other up while also encouraging one another to be the best self you can each be.

12. Total Connection

When you find your soulmate, you will love their flaws and all the good things about them. When you accept a person’s flaws and love them anyway, you could be destined for a long future together. This doesn’t mean you won’t fight or disagree, but simply that you will accept everything about your chosen one. You won’t pick and choose with a soulmate; you’ll value the whole person for who they are.

13. Life Has Meaning

Even when life couldn’t get any more boring, your soulmate will be there to help you find meaning and purpose in what you’re doing. When you are with them, things just naturally look and feel better so you can get through the tough times without letting them break you. Pin ItThe term, “seeing the world through rose-colored glasses” is something that applies in this instance. If even the hardest parts of life take on a significance, you have found your true soulmate.

The security and acceptance you experience when you find your soulmate is something that will improve your life in all areas. You’ll be healthier and happier and will feel better about living life in general. If you haven’t found that person, don’t give up yet. You will meet him or her and when you do, you will understand the true magnitude of what it means to be in a relationship with your soulmate.
